What are Nightmares?

Almost everyone has suffered from a nightmare at least once in their lifetime. They are often scary, threatening and contain elements of horror that make us wake up sweating during the night. However, for victims of PTSD, they are considerably worse.

Most PTSD sufferers deal with unwanted memories, flashbacks and nightmares frequently when they fall asleep. In these nightmares, they are forced to relive their traumatic experiences over and over.

It is estimated that between 70% and 90% of PTSD victims suffer from nightmares. If you’re one of these unfortunate people, or know of someone who is, give Overcoming PTSD a call on 02 9960 0022 to find out how we can help you deal with unwanted nightmares.
